Guest Post: the great Mount Pendle
Hi, so I’m not actualy going on this expedition, I am however dragged along on the trainings occasionally. I arrived back from spending months in Rio de Janeiro only to end up climbing up a snowy mountain in England. Thanks for that mother (Linda).
So, we went to Pendle, the roads were geting pretty icy and guess it’d take about 2:30hr. Once everyone had arrived we grouped up and walked off in the wrong direction, doh!
So by actually consulting the map we got on course up a hill, I even tried to help a car get up a road of ice. That failed quite miserably and we never saw him again, anything could have happened.
We plodded onwards, and the snow stopped being fun after about an hour or two. We doubted the map a few times, and some locals got really surprised when I asked what hill this was. At least they pointed out we were going in the right direction though. About two/three hours in we got to the top and threw one of the dogs on the trig point and took pictures. Then we had the fun walk back down, it was pretty steep. Dog Dog briefly decided she could’t see or hear anyone she recognised and kept sitting down and whining.
We got back, Pendle was nice.
